With the winter tundra weather as the background that brings a sense of home to our esteemed delegates, Russia once again proves that it holds the power in the UN. Each noble delegate was handpicked for their Committee with the intention of a perfect performance.

The delegate in the General Assembly representing the Russian Federation swiftly informed the room that “the two main powers US and Afghanistan were not present,” making sure that nothing should be spoken about the war in Afghanistan until these countries were present. The delegate may also have been trying to hold off the topic so that it will get a chance to confront the US on its slow process. By asserting its power Russia quickly showed that once again it doesn’t take world issues lightly.

The Summit on Indigenous People may have been lacking the involvement that was seen in the General Assembly but none the less it was clear as the previously blue sky that the Russian delegate was eager to partake in the topic. The World Health Organization was heatedly talking about the combating of HIV/AIDS. The Russian delegate was well informed, wasting no time in presenting the information to the rest of the committee.

With the United Nations conference just starting out, the Russian Federation shows its heeding interest in top performance. There is an expectation of excellecnt that each delegate is sure to meet, one way or another. While the temperature drops the heated debates will be our main source of warmth, Russia is sure to be the centered source of continual fiery passion.
